Our BEAUTY Holiday Party!

Hey Everyone,

Just want to a big thank you to all our clients, friends, and staff that attended our holiday bash over the weekend.  What a great time!  The fashion, art, and crafts exhibited by local artisans and designers was a big hit (as were the sweets and spirits).  We're so happy to celebrate with everyone, and hope those present had a great time too.  We can't wait for the coming year, and all the exciting things we have planned at our salons.

A big toast to everyone for helping us ring in the Holidays right!

Beauty's Thomas Dewing interviewed for Florida's Sun Sentinel...

Hey Everyone,

Our own Thomas Dewing was recently interviewed by South Florida's paper, The Sun Sentinel, on the direction men's hair will be moving in the near future.  Below is an excerpt.

"We're getting away from that Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber haircut," said Thomas Dewing, the Goldwell North America guest artist who recently led a men's hair master class in Pompano Beach. "We're moving away from metrosexual to retrosexual. It's more like a modern variation of a pompadour or a classic taper. It's cleaner and more masculine."

Dewing, who works at the Beauty salon in Milwaukee, says men's hairstyles this fall and winter will reflect the classic shapes last seen on the likes of James Dean and Cary Grant.

"The archetypal male is more in the forefront. Jon Hamm is a perfect example of that, also George Clooney and Robert Pattinson with his new haircut. [Pattinson] is doing 'Water For Elephants' with Reese Witherspoon so he has period hair, but then just by shifting the styling product he makes it modern."

Gallery Night at Beauty Downtown! Featuring Tom Noll.

Visit Beauty Downtown on Friday, October 15th, between 5pm and 8pm for wine music, and terrific art by local painter Tom Noll.  It's sure to be a wonderful evening highlighting the work of this fantastic painter.  Make sure to drop in while gallery hopping!

In his oil paint series, "Art that Rocks", Tom's painting vibrant, moving portrayals of rock musicians that have caught the attention of passionate fans.  His goal is to reach deep, and create a lasting bond between art and viewer.
Tom is constantly working with the push and pull of space, moving the figures through the depth of the abstract.  The exploration in contrasts and textures lead to an unconscious passing of time when painting is moving forward.  Like music, the paint process builds to furious tempos, and then, can soar with transcending emotional serenity.

"I hop that on some level, I've reached you, the viewer, for a lingering experience."
